The most effective smart key holder for your jingling keys - utilising magnets!
This current run has ended, but there are more recent runs for MAGKEY - Magnetic Smart Key Holder. Click here to go to the most recent run.
Everyone’s got something they want to fix about the world, for me it was noisy keys. After months of prototyping different key holders - I had an epiphany! Why not use magnets?
Introducing MAGKEY: the most effective, minimal, lightweight, and functional smart key holder out there. Just peel, stick and snap. Voilà - no more noisy keys!
We designed MAGKEY to be the SIMPLEST and SMARTEST key holder out there. All you have to do is stick the magnets on to your keys and that's it. The magnets attract each other so that no matter what configuration your keys are in, they always pull back together.
MAGKEY is a little company based in San Francisco with the goal of eliminating key-jingles forever. We do so with the integrity and philosophy of always doing our best to deliver quickly, with an honest appreciation for our customers. We have a small team, but we give you big thanks for giving us the chance to create products for you.
This is where you come in. We need your help to make this project happen! If you guys and gals bring us to our pledge goal, we promise to change the way you handle your keys.
Your funding will go towards the best magnets we can find, premium quality packaging, logistics, and an accelerated production run for MAGKEY. Your funding will help to create the world's first magnetic smart key holder.
Thank you for taking the time to check out our project. We truly appreciate it!
Options are aplenty these days for key organisation - but nothing I've seen before comes close to this! What a brilliant idea - using neodymium magnets to hold your keys together when you don't need them eliminates noisy keys forever!
@johnbosco Nice find! This seems like a really cool minimalist yet effective option. I personally use the Keysmart Organizer but it doesn't cater well to odd shaped keys. I carry multiple key sets around for various uses so I'd be really keen on joining this hunt. Seems like a great solution for my 'rugged outdoor' key set. Another hunt I'm personally excited to see go through is the Orbitkey that I've been coveting for awhile.
@joelleong totally agree with using this solution as a 'rugged outdoor' utility key set. Personally I'm getting it to neaten up my office-boy/quarter-master duties.
Glad to see this hunt now live, can't wait to get them!
How many keys can the Orbitkey hold? There are cheaper options that look like orbitkey/keysmart on aliexpress - but the quality is terrible..
@johnbosco I think the maximum capacity is 7 standard keys for the Orbitkey, though I personally take a minimalistic approach to key carrying and prefer to separate my keys into a couple of sets depending on the use case.
One thing I've also noticed / thought about recently is that if you prefer a slimmer profile, the Keysmart is a better option as it has 2 keyholders on each end allowing your keys to lock in on the same row, compared to the Orbitkey's single stack.
